Lou D'Ambrosio

Mr. D'Ambrosio was named principal at the Robert D. Stethem Educational Center in 2022. Prior to serving as principal at Stethem, Mr. D'Ambrosio served as principal of Berry Elementary School for four years and principal at Arthur J. Middleton Elementary School for three years. He served as a vice principal at William A. Diggs Elementary for four years, Indian Head Elementary for four years and for one year at Mt. Hope/Nanjemoy Elementary School. During his tenure as vice principal he served as a testing coordinator and technology assistant. He also served as a regional administrator for the Summer Reading and Math Academy. In June 2015, Mr. D’Ambrosio was named the Charles County Public Schools Vice Principal of the Year.

D’Ambrosio began his career with Charles County Public Schools in 2001 as an Emotional Adjustment (EA) teacher at Milton M. Somers Middle School. Additionally, he worked as a special educator and coordinated the summer academy program at Somers, and served as co-department chair for the Somers EA and special education programs. He began his career in education in 2000 as a clinical instructor at Sarah Reed Children’s Center in Erie, Pa.

D’Ambrosio has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Science degree in Special Education from Mercyhurst University. He also has a Continued Applied Study in Education (CASE) degree from Notre Dame University of Maryland.
